I hope to use this space as a germ for future essays, where I can experiment with avenues of thought before committing them to writing. It’ll be experimental—read: half-baked—but I hope that, as time goes on, it will develop a more coherent mission and ideology.
Pulling from video games, “Open + Worlds” is an idea and not an actually existing thing. I don’t think “openness” is a useful critical concept, except as a counterpoint to form (in this case, “worlds”). The equation of the two concepts (“+”) signifies a horizon of possibility and being (idea and essence) that I hope to explore.
I can’t promise much, but I can promise the occasional pictures of my cute dogs.
